THE OPPORTUNITY We're hiring a Senior Teacher Recruiter to join our Sydney desk. This isn't a role for someone learning the ropes, this is for an established recruiter who already knows how to source, sell, close, and keep a desk full. You'll inherit warm clients, work alongside high-billers, and have the autonomy to run your desk like a business. What you'll be doing: - Running a full 360 desk: business development with schools, candidate sourcing, interviews, placements, aftercare. - Building long-term relationships with Principals, Heads of School and HR leaders across NSW, QLD & ACT. - Identifying and headhunting top teaching talent: primary, secondary, leadership, international. - Owning your clients: every meaningful conversation logged, every relationship nurtured, every placement earned. - Mentoring junior consultants when you're ready to step into a Team Leader role. WHY THIS ROLE BITES HARDER THAN THE ONE YOU'RE IN 1. The money is uncapped — and the structure is transparent. Base salary: $95,000 Super. That's the starting point, not the ceiling. Our commission scheme rewards billing above your threshold on a tiered, progressive structure: - 2.0x to 2.49x threshold 15% commission - 2.5x to 2.99x threshold 20% commission - 3.0x to 3.49x threshold 25% commission - 3.5x to 3.99x threshold 30% commission - 4.0x to 4.49x threshold 35% commission - 4.5x threshold and above 40% commission Translation: the more you bill, the bigger your slice. There is no cap. We don't pull the ladder up behind you, and we don't move the goalposts mid-year. 2. The career ladder is real, and the rungs are written down. We've mapped the path from Senior Recruitment Consultant all the way to Director / Inspired Recruitment Legend. Every promotion has clear, billing-based criteria. - Senior Recruitment Consultant: $95,000 Super (you start here) - Team Leader / Principal Consultant: $110,000 Super - Manager / Partner Consultant: $130,000 Super - Director / Inspired Recruitment Legend: $170,000 Super If you hit $400,000 in personal billings inside 12 months, you're moving. Simple. 3. The location, the team, the toys. - A modern Sydney CBD office on Castlereagh Street, two minutes from Martin Place. - A small, high-performing team where your billing isn't lost in someone else's P&L. - A CRM and tech stack built for closers, not for compliance theatre. - Transparent, written rules of engagement on client and candidate ownership — no political games, no "my client from three years ago" disputes. - Equity in your relationships: keep working your clients, you keep your clients. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR Sharks. Not in the cliche way, in the real way. People who can't sit still when there's a deal to make. People who pick up the phone before they finish their coffee. People who measure their week in placements, not in hours. Non-negotiables: - 3 years of agency recruitment experience, ideally in education, but we'll seriously consider top billers from adjacent verticals (white-collar, professional services, healthcare). - A track record of consistent personal billings of $350k annually, with evidence. - Full 360 capability: you've done BD, you've closed clients, you've managed candidates through to placement and aftercare. - Deep network in the Sydney market, or the appetite to build one fast. - Hunter mentality. Self-starter. Resilient. Coachable. - Full Australian working rights. Nice to have: - Existing relationships with independent schools, Catholic schools, or international schools. - Experience mentoring or managing junior recruiters (you'll be on the Team Leader track from day one). - Education sector knowledge — curriculum, leadership structures, registration requirements.
